Welcome to our Web Site

Bundaberg Skywatchers was formed in July 1998 by a group of amateur astronomers with the common interest of sharing their years of knowledge and enjoyment in astronomy with others.

Many members also belonged to the Astronomical Association of Queensland and there is an astro-photographer, lunar occultation observer and teachers of basic astronomy and Introduction to the Night Sky courses among our members.

The group meets on Friday nights at 7:00 pm. During each month we hold a variety of field nights and training nights with a general meeting or visual aid preparation evening when too much moonlight makes the sky too bright for deep sky observations.

We hold viewing nights for the general public by appointment. If you are interested in learning about the night sky, identifying stars and planets or would just like to look through a telescope give us a call on (07) 41812238. Contact can also be made by email to Karlene. Our viewing site is situated north of Bundaberg City with good horizons and dark skies.
