Some of my Embroidery Designs

You can see where I started off first, a very raw beginner with the soldier.
The Rural scene was next, this reminds me of where we last lived at the
foot of the Australian Alps, in the twin cities of Albury Wodonga. This
represents my husband Tony sailing his yacht on lake Hume. It is at the
end of Summer when everything is dry. Tabby, is because I love cats
and flowers, and these are our daughters favourite flowers, the Corn flower.
She is also a cat person.
These designs are a racing car and a train.
I experimented with stitch parameters such as pitch and frequency
in the car and train to get some interesting effects.
I did the first fairy with metallic pale silver wings with white
inserts and grey outlines, it comes up really well. I was trying to achieve
a translucent effect with them. I did the hair with two shades of brown
together in the needle and manual punched to try to make it look like hair.
The colours on the small image on this page are a bit limited, so the effect
is lost to some extent. I used a skin colour stitch for the skin with a
shade deeper for the outlines and the same deeper outlines on the dress.
The second fairy was a bit more orthodox, although I did mess with
the hair in the Layout and Editing program.. The wings for this one I used
Raimon thread colour 116 and the outlines in their metalic soft gold to
get the translucent effect. Try to pick a blond hair colour that doesn'
t match the same colours as the skin and wings.
Thanks to the BBD list I am continually learning how to use this
software.
I hope that you have enjoyed these designs and as I do more I will
post them.
These files contain the .pes and .pem files for Brother
and Babylock machines. They can be converted to other formats using various
utilities.
